Enter a URL to check your website’s SEO score on a 0–100 scale. The score summarizes more than 25 on-page and technical checks, weighted by how much each one affects whether your page can be found, understood and clicked in search results.

The number is a starting point, not the goal. Under it you will see exactly which checks cost points and the fixes that will raise your score the most.

How to check your SEO score

  1. Paste your URL

Type or paste the address of any page into the box above.

  2. Run the check

Press “Check SEO” and wait a few seconds while we fetch and test the page.

  3. Read the breakdown

See how many checks passed and which are critical, warnings or improvements.

  4. Fix and re-check

Fix the top item, then check again to watch your score climb.

How the SEO score is calculated

Every check has a weight based on its impact. Indexing problems — an error status code or a noindex tag — carry the most weight because they can remove a page from Google entirely. Relevance signals such as the title tag, the H1 and broken links come next. Polish items such as a favicon or a language attribute carry very little weight.

A passed check earns its full weight. An improvement keeps most of it, a warning keeps about a third, and a critical issue earns nothing. Your score is the share of possible points you earned. Pages that return an error are capped at a low score, and so are pages marked noindex, because nothing else matters until they can be indexed.

What is a good SEO score?

  • 90–100: Excellent. The technical basics are done; focus on content and links.
  • 75–89: Good. A few warnings are holding you back — usually an hour of fixes.
  • 50–74: Needs work. Likely missing meta tags, alt text or heading structure, and possibly slow responses.
  • Below 50: Poor. Look for critical issues first: errors, noindex, a missing title or blocked crawling.

Scores from different tools aren’t comparable, because each weighs checks differently. Track your score over time, and compare it with competitors checked using the same tool.

The fastest ways to raise your score

  1. Remove accidental noindex tags and fix pages that return errors.
  2. Write a unique title of 50–60 characters and a meta description of 140–160 characters.
  3. Use exactly one H1 that matches the topic of the page.
  4. Fix or remove broken links.
  5. Add alt text to meaningful images, and width and height to all images.
  6. Turn on gzip or Brotli compression and add defer to scripts in the head.

Keep your score honest

  • Score your most important pages individually; a strong home page can hide weak service pages.
  • Re-check after plugin or theme updates — they are the most common cause of sudden drops.
  • Write down the date and score of each check so you can connect changes in traffic to changes on the page.
  • If two pages target the same keyword, compare their scores and consider merging the weaker one into the stronger.

Limits to keep in mind

A high score means your page is technically sound, not that it will rank first. Rankings also depend on content quality, search intent, backlinks and competition — things no score can fully capture. Use the score to remove obstacles, then invest in content.

Privacy and safety

Checking your score doesn’t require an account. Free reports are private links that are deleted automatically after 30 days. Read our privacy policy for details.

Check website seo score: frequently asked questions

How do I check my website’s SEO score?

Paste your URL in the box at the top of this page and press “Check SEO”. You get a 0–100 score and a fix list in under 30 seconds, free and without signing up.

What is a good SEO score for a website?

Above 75 is good and above 90 is excellent on our scale. More important than the number is having no critical issues, since those can stop a page from ranking at all.

Why did my SEO score go down?

Common causes are a new broken link, a slower server response, a plugin that removed a meta tag, or a redesign that added render-blocking scripts. Compare the fix list with your previous report.

Does a score of 100 guarantee a number-one ranking?

No. The score covers what is on your page. Rankings also depend on content quality, links from other sites and how well you match search intent.

How often should I check my SEO score?

After every significant change and at least monthly. Paid plans re-check your sites weekly and e-mail you when the score changes.

Is the score for my page or my whole website?

Free checks score a single page. A whole-site score, available on Pro, combines every crawled page with site-wide checks such as duplicate titles.
